Meet Chantelle, the General Manager and Pet Nutritionist at Global Pet Foods! Her passion for animals, dedication to the community, and love for what she does make her a valued part of the Country Hills Village Shopping Centre family. Get to know her a little better in this fun Q&A!

Q: Can you tell us a bit about your role and what you enjoy most about it?
A: I’m the General Manager and Pet Nutritionist at Global Pet Foods Edgemont and Cambrian. My role includes product ordering, event planning, and managing our amazing team. What I enjoy most is still being able to interact with clients and help them find the best food option for their pets’ specific needs.
Q: What’s your favourite thing about working at Global Pet Foods?
A: I love that I get to incorporate my passion for animals and pet nutrition into my daily work. But honestly, the best part is working for such an amazing family. Mark and Tara Leeder are thoughtful, kind, and still very involved in the operations. It’s truly a local, family-owned and operated business—even their son Jonathan and daughter-in-law Brittany are part of it!
Q: What’s your favourite CHV retailer (apart from Global Pet Foods)?
A: Starbucks! They’re always there to support our caffeine addiction.
Q: What’s your go-to CHV spot when you’re looking for a quick break or treat?
A: I love heading to Dairy Queen for their $7 Meal Deal. It’s a great way to enjoy a small meal and a sweet treat!
Q: What do you enjoy doing outside of work?
A: Spending time with my husband and our two dogs is my favourite way to decompress. It’s all about laughing, relaxing, and enjoying life with the ones I love most.
Q: If you could describe CHV in three words, what would they be?
A: Diverse, Welcoming, Integral.
Q: Why?
A: CHV has such a wide range of businesses and customers, and it feels very inclusive. The complex itself is warm and inviting, and the staff at every business are so attentive. Plus, CHV offers essential services, like dental, chiropractic, optometry, veterinary care, and pet supplies, making it a vital part of the community.
Q: Is there a particular memory at CHV that stands out as especially rewarding or meaningful?
A: Definitely the Best of CHV event in September 2024. So many businesses came together to create a full day of celebration. It was amazing to see the community show up, have fun, and be appreciated. A truly rewarding moment!
