Dr. Michelle Beck of Country Hills Animal Hospital

Meet Dr. Michelle Beck, one of the compassionate veterinarians caring for pets and their families at VCA Country Hills Animal Hospital, located right here at Country Hills Village Shopping Centre. With years of experience and a genuine love for animals, Dr. Beck brings expertise and heart to every pet’s visit. Read on to learn more about her role, her favourite parts of the job, and what she enjoys most about being part of the CHV community!

Can you tell us a bit about your role and what you enjoy most about it?
I’m a full-time veterinarian at Country Hills Animal Hospital. Veterinary medicine is very rewarding because it allows us to care for animals from their puppy or kitten stage all the way through their senior years. Along the way, we build long-term relationships not only with the animals but also with their owners, which is incredibly meaningful.

What’s your favourite thing about working at VCA?
My favourite thing about working at VCA is our positive work culture. Although we all come from different backgrounds, what unites us is our shared passion for animals, which drives us to provide the best care possible.

What’s your favourite CHV retailer (apart from VCA) and why?
My optometrist, Dr. Cen, is at FYidoctors—he’s awesome! We also enjoy dining at Famoso and Saigon Rex.

What’s your go-to CHV spot when you’re looking for a quick break or treat?
Starbucks. It’s great for a convenient and delicious mid-day pick-me-up!

If you could describe CHV in three words, what would they be and why?
Convenient, friendly, diverse.

What do you enjoy outside of work?
When I’m not working, I’m a busy mom of two young children. Together with my husband and parents, we love taking advantage of the great outdoor spaces that Calgary has to offer.
