Dental Tips For Your Children's Oral Health

Your children’s oral health is vitally important.

Here are some helpful tips from All Smiles Dental Care for you to create healthy habits starting from an early age!

  • We recommend children brush their teeth for 2 minutes twice a day, ideally with an electric toothbrush.

  • Parents should be brushing for their child until they are 7 or 8, when the child's dexterity is more fully developed.

  • Flossing is a very important daily habit too! Floss once a day.

  • Your child should see the dentist twice a year for regular exams and hygiene. If your child is in orthodontic care, more frequent visits to the dentist are often recommended.

  • Eat less sugar. Tooth decay is caused by bacteria that feeds on sugar. Provide your kids with a healthy, balanced diet and choose water over sodas or juices. It provides the best hydration and is, of course, sugar-free.
